PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan sent a message to the commemoration held in Ankara Tuzluçayır neighborhood for Rıza Altun and Ali Haydar Kaytan, who were declared killed at the 12th Congress of the PKK.
In the message read by his lawyer Faik Özgür Erol, Öcalan also made an assessment of the congress where the decision to dissolve and lay down arms was taken by the terrorist organization PKK on May 5-7.

In his message, Öcalan expressed his deep sorrow for the deaths of Ali Haydar Kaytan and Rıza Altun and stated:
“For now, I extend my deepest respects to their memories, with further comprehensive evaluations to be made later. They will always have a permanent place in our national existence and democratic communal struggle. They will forever play their roles as the fundamental inspiring values for the paradigm and institutionalization of the new period. As eternal guiding lights, they will be remembered and kept alive in our struggle. In this regard, I salute with respect the decisions taken at the historic 12th congress and the messages for the upcoming period.”
